Tradecraft: Maggie Grace Locked Up For Taken 2
Last month we learned that Liam Neeson had finalized his deal to reprise his role as pissed-off former CIA agent Bryan Mills in the highly-anticipated sequel to his 2009 neo-Eurospy hit Taken (review here); today Deadline reports that Maggie Grace has come aboard once again to play his daughter. I really hope it's not her who gets kidnapped again. I'd like to see Mills' ex-wife, Famke Janssen, be the one who needs rescuing this time around, in fact, giving him a chance to show up her rich husband Xander Berkeley. But that's just because I always welcome the chance to see more of Famke Janssen, the best Bond Girl of the Brosnan Era! I hope she's the next cast member to make a deal with Luc Besson's EuropaCorp for the sequel. As previously reported, Taken 2 takes place primarily in Istanbul. Transporter 3's (review here) Olivier Megaton is expected to direct, taking over from Pierre Morel, who directed From Paris With Love (review here) for Besson then moved on to bigger things. Grace will next be seen in another Besson-produced neo-Eurospy movie, Lockout, opposite Guy Pearce.
