Image this week released Ronald Neame's 1974 Frederick Forsyth adaptation
The Odessa File on Blu-ray. It was previously available on DVD. Jon Voight stars as a crusading German journalist hot on the trail of a Nazi war criminal (Maximillian Schell) who holds the key to Odessa, a powerful secret organization that's the legacy of the SS. That trail of espionage and conspiracy leads from Hamburg to the tension-filled middle east. The film is also notable for featuring a rare score (his sole effort in the spy genre) by Broadway's Andrew Lloyd Webber. The only special features on Image's Blu-ray are trailers. Retail is $17.97, but it's only $10
on Amazon right now.
