Tradecraft: Bond Goes Bourne

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Jason Bourne's second unit director (on the last two movies) is switching spies. Dan Bradley, who served also served as stunt co-ordinator on the Paul Greengrass-directed films, will direct second unit on the next James Bond movie. Bradley is famous for his "put you in the middle of it" action style. He's also directed second unit on Spider-man 2 and Spider-man 3, as well as Steven Spielberg's currently-shooting Indiana Jones 4. Hopefully his style is adaptable, and he'll come up with a unique look for Bond that's just as intense (and... awesome) as the Bourne, but uniquely 007, because I'm sick and tired of seeing Bond accused of ripping off Bourne. Yes, The Bourne Ultimatum is fantastic. But no matter what Matt Damon or Paul Greengrass says, there would be no Jason Bourne without James Bond, and Bond will never be replaced! Still, it's definitely good news to have the best action man out there shooting Bond's fights, especially with an unproven action director at the helm.
