New Skyfall Video Blog Reveals Some Film Footage

It's not a trailer, but this latest video blog from 007.com, the film's official site, featuring 2nd Unit Director Alexander Witt, reveals some very cool, very Bondian, very beautiful scenic shots of Shanghai, one of the thrilling cities Daniel Craig's James Bond visits in Skyfall. As with everything else we've seen so far from this film, it looks great to me!

JAMES BOND 50TH ANNIVERSARY
FRIDAY APRIL 20 DOUBLE FEATURE
DR. NO 2:00, 7:00
• ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE 4:10, 9:05
Kicking off this series is the respective debuts of Sean Connery (1st of 7) and George Lazenby (his sole outing) as Secret Agent 007. In Dr. No, Bond (Connery) is sent to Jamaica to combat the titular fiend with his devious plan to disrupt a space launch with an atomic-powered radio beam. Bond (Lazenby) finds love with contessa Diana Rigg in O.H.M.S.S.while he battles Blofeld and his dastardly plot to sterilize the world’s food supply via a group of brainwashed “angels of death.” DR. NO Dir: Terence Young | 1962 | 110 min | 35mm • O.H.M.S.S. Dir: Peter R. Hunt | 1969 | 142 min | 35mm ‘Scope
SATURDAY APRIL 21 TRIPLE FEATURE
($11 General / $8 Kids & Seniors)
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE 2:30, 9:30
• DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER 4:45
• THE SPY WHO LOVED ME 7:05
In Russia, Bond (Connery) is given a tricky mission to assist in the defection of beautiful Soviet Embassy clerk Daniela Bianchi while dodging cunning SPECTRE assassin Robert Shaw. Connery’s last go as 007 for some time, Diamonds is the first Bond film to be shot in the US, where he infiltrates a smuggling ring leading to old nemesis Blofeld. Spy is Roger Moore’s third round as Bond, this time up against reclusive megalomaniac Curt Jürgens who plans to destroy the world and create a new civilization under the sea. RUSSIA Dir: Terence Young | 1963 | 115 min | 35mm • DIAMONDS Dir: Guy Hamilton | 1971 | 120 min | 35mm ‘Scope • SPY Dir: Lewis Gilbert | 1977 125 min | 35mm ‘Scope
SUNDAY APRIL 22 TRIPLE FEATURE
($11 General / $8 Kids & Seniors)
THUNDERBALL 1:00, 8:15
• LIVE AND LET DIE 3:30
• FOR YOUR EYES ONLY 5:50
The most popular entry in the series, Thunderball pits Bond (Connery) against SPECTRE agent Largo who holds the world for ransom with a nuclear threat. The blaxploitation-influenced Die is Moore’s Bond debut in which he is trapped in a Caribbean world of gangsters and voodoo, fighting to thwart a drug baron’s scheme. Eyes is perhaps the most underrated Bond. After a couple over-the-top extravaganzas, the approach here is more gritty and in the realm of reality, as Bond (Moore) attempts to locate a missile command system while entangled in webs of deception and revenge. THUNDERBALL Dir: Terence Young | 1965 | 130 min | 35mm ‘Scope • DIE Dir: Guy Hamilton | 1973 | 121 min | 35mm • EYES Dir: John Glen | 1981 | 127 min | 35mm ‘Scope
_______
Thanks.

Yes, I should! Thanks for reminding me, Doug. I was actually in San Francisco earlier this week and saw that this was happening, and was bummed that it was happening after I left town... and then I forgot to post about it. Will do now, in time for the next two nights anyway.

Sorry, I've been dropping the ball on Bond screenings lately. I missed last week's LA Dr. No, too, with a panel of Bond Girls.
