Tradecraft: Cruise's Next Spy Movie Gets A Title

The James Mangold-directed Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz spy movie that's now shooting and has been untitled for a long time finally has a name. According to Variety, Fox "has firmed Knight & Day as the new title for a film that had previously been known around town as Wichita and Trouble Man." Peter Sarsgaard, Paul Dano, Viola Davis, Olivier Martinez, Maggie Grace and Mark Blucas co-star with Cruise and Diaz in what the trade is calling an action comedy. "Cruise plays a man of mystery who links up with Diaz [on a blind date]. They become fugitives, there are betrayals and shifting alliances all around them, and they must figure out whether to be guided by truth or trust." Previous reports have mentioned an everlasting power source, developed by Dano's scientist, as a MacGuffin with a very Eurospy vibe to it. Personally, I'm not crazy about Knight & Day, but it's certainly leagues better than Wichita! Thanks to Kees for the heads-up on this one.

As strange as Tom is in in his personal life, he is an extremely talented actor and Im looking forward to watching his next project. He made the some best films of the 1980's and is still going strong.
