My wish has come true! Amazon has posted retro-styled Richie Fahey cover art for the forthcoming American edition of Quantum of Solace: The Complete James Bond Short Stories! And it's a beautiful addition to the rest of the current Penguin paperback line. I think it's a really good idea having a Fleming book on the shelf with a title to match the upcoming movie.

EXCELLENT! This is a dream come true.
The problem is if you own the two short story collections all ready (For Your Eyes Only & Octopussy). All we are really getting is Scarlet Johanson/Charlize Theron looking blonde on new cover.
And that's enough for me! Sure, there's no reason for people who already own both collections to buy this unless they're crazy completists, like myself. (I'd say I probably own at least fifteen different editions of each of those books already.) And I suspect I'm not alone in that particular mania amond readers of this blog.
But for people who don't own them yet, they get a bargain. And, most importantly, for the average consumer browsing the shelf for something with a title that matches that of the new movie, they find something to buy. (What they'll make of that titular story is another matter entirely!)
Tanner I'm getting it also cause I need to have my set complete. Now only if I could find the last two missing Matt Helm books on my list.
